History

Swinging M Stables is a horse boarding facility in Cicero, Indiana owned by the R.T. Moore family.

 

R.T. (1926-1996) loved horses!  He dedicated 32 years of his life to raising Arabian show horses and racing Quarter horses.  In 2015, R.T. was inducted into the Indiana Quarter Horse Racing Association Hall of Fame.

 

Tom Moore, R.T.'s son, also has a deep passion for horses.  Tom is a professional horse trainer and exhibitor. In 1995 he was named Arabian Horse Association's International Horseman of the Year.  He is a consultant to Cedar Ridge Arabians in Minnesota.

 

The facility is now managed by Landi Moore Strand, and her husband Brad.  They are committed to providing a safe and fun environment for horse and rider alike.  Their combined 30 years of horse boarding experience continues to allow them to achieve this goal. 

 

Additionally, our staff member, Carrie Hazelwood, has had more than 40 years experience and has been with Swinging M since 2009.  Prior to coming to Swinging M, Carrie worked with and trained Standardbreds, worked at a Dude ranch, and a Girl Scout camp barn.
